Luomus is a national authority on issues relating to biodiversity. For example, it generates information for governmental decision-making regarding species and their conservation status in Finland in particular.
The staff of Luomus participates actively in the surrounding society. In addition to appearing in the media or consulting various institutions directly, Luomus experts support the work of officials and NGOs through a variety of working groups. Articles written for the general public are another important channel for sharing research-based expertise with the rest of society. The number of publications written for the general public in 2014–2018 is shown in table 16.
Information about all publications by the staff of Luomus can be found in the research portal of Helsinki University.
