The crisis resulting from the University’s budget cuts in 2015–2016 is behind us, and Luomus is regaining its momentum. The core budget has continued to diminish, but Luomus has been able to accrue more external funding than ever before. While this has offset some of the cuts to basic funding, the budget has remained approximately 15% smaller than five years ago. In the long run, the finances of Luomus are not on sustainable footing, particularly due to constantly rising rents, and there are next to no resources to develop science and environmental education. More detailed information on the income, expenses and external funding can be found in tables 2–4.
